Mewboard vs Trello: when cards are not enough.
Trello made boards of cards familiar to everyone. If you run a studio or work for several clients, you may have hit its limits: boards that multiply, no timeline or calendar below the Premium plan, checklists that live on cards, requests that arrive in chats and have to be copied in. Mewboard keeps the board you know and adds what a small client business needs. Facts about Trello were checked on 15 October 2026.
The short version. Trello is great for personal boards, simple team flows and anything that profits from its Power-Ups and automation. Mewboard is the better fit when you manage projects for clients, want timeline, calendar and milestones without a paid plan, and want requests from Telegram and email to land on the board by themselves.

Where Mewboard is the better fit
- One project, every view. The same issues as a board, a list, a timeline and a calendar, with milestones that show progress. No upgrade needed to see the deadline picture.
- Real structure without clutter. Statuses, priorities, labels, due dates and assignees are fields you can filter and group by, not just colours on a card.
- The client talks, the board fills. Forward a client message from Telegram or email the project address, and the issue appears with its attachments and a note of who wrote it.
- Clients and freelancers see only their part. Invite a client as a viewer, limit a freelancer to one project, keep each client in a separate workspace.
- The AI sits on the board. Ask Claude to plan launch week, and it creates the issues with dates, ticks the checklist, and writes what it changed.
Where Trello is better
- Power-Ups and automation: hundreds of integrations and no-code rules (Butler). Mewboard has none of these yet.
- Templates and a huge community: almost any workflow has a ready board.
- Simplicity for one person: drag cards, nothing else. If that is all you need, Trello is hard to beat.
- Maturity: native apps on every platform, years of polish, enterprise controls.
Moving over
There is no importer yet. A board with a few dozen cards moves in minutes: export it from Trello, give the file to Claude connected to both, and ask it to create the issues, the labels and the checklists. We will build a proper importer if enough people ask for it.
Try it with one client project.
It takes a minute to sign up, and it is free for up to five people.
